Air conditioning. What a luxury! I wish it were installed at work, that way I could shut my window and reduce the noise of construction from next door. However, if I shut my window, my temperature rises and my brain shuts down. Yes, it's summer in Godzone. Having said that, my window IS shut, as there is a very cool southerly zephyr wafting through Wellington.
I sit in an office on the eighth floor of a building on Willis Street. I am 7 levels off the ground, as the "first" floor is the one above the "ground" floor. Sorry: in New Zealand we predominately speak the "Queens East London English modified for local cultural ideas and infused with a smattering of Americanisms". So we tend to have ground floors and metres, rather than first floors and meters, whilst remarking "cool, dude!” in one sentence, "kia ora" in another and "cheers, mate!' in the next. So 8 is 7, if you see what I mean. I needn't apologise (where's the zee? Or is it a zed?): no one will read this. Probably. I am just fiddling with blogging in order to see whether this facility is fun. Maybe I'll never get round to posting again. Dunno.
